Sandra Fabie-Gfeller

While Sandra Fabie-Gfeller's subjects are meticulously painted, in almost hyper realistic fashion, to every last crease or fold - the effect they produce straddle the line of minimalist painting. Like the "nowhere" of the paper bag?s existence, and the between wherefrom-and-whereto of the images blurred motion, Fabie-Gfeller's paintings cross the frontiers of representational painting and abstraction, but they never leave the border. This gives us a hint that the clean lines of modernist aesthetics need not lend itself only to the abstract genre.

Fabie-Gfeller had been exhibiting since 2000. She has had six solo shows since 2003 and her works featured in a show in New York, Paris and Singapore, and in the Larasati Auction in Singapore late last year.
