Artist-Teachers

Salvador Joel Alonday received his bachelor's degree from the College of Music and Fine Arts, PWU, in 1985. Thereafter, he taught art and design fundamentals and theories for 5 years while practicing his profession as an industrial designer. It was during this time that he became a member of the art group Hulo; churning out mixed media works, installations and sculptures done in wood, cast resin and papier mache or "taka". He later abandoned his design profession and made a commitment to sculpture with his first solo exhibition at the CCP in 1994; featuring assemblages with carvings in wood and cement. He has since exhibited in Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Japan. He is one of the founders of Art Informal where he continues to explore forms, materials and processes with his students of Sculpture.

Erwin Leano is a painter and an art educator. He studied Painting at the University of the Philippines and is a member of the Antipolo-based art group Salingpusa. He has participated in a number of group show and since his one-man exhibition in 2000, has had 15 solo shows to date. He is a co-founder of Art Informal where he teaches basic and Intermediate Oil Painting techniques. Leano paints in tranquil meditation with each new canvas unfolding like remembrances of early morning walks or the slow merging shadows of twilight...
